When one thinks of the word “appliances”, one does not normally think of a bathroom. An object called an “appliance” typically belongs in the kitchen. That is no longer true. Modern living has given us bathroom appliances and a homeowner is only limited by budget and creativity!
Bathroom fixtures are sometimes called bathroom appliances. The faucets in a bathroom are critical to the design of a bathroom, but they’re not really appliances. They’re fixtures. Toilets and bidets may be considered appliances as well, but they’re not really appliances in a true sense either.
Some bathroom appliances might be better thought of as bathroom gadgets. There are LED rings that can be added to faucets. They change color with the water temperature which eliminates the risk of stepping into a cold stream of water. Towel racks, bars, and hooks hold towels so that they dry in a uniform manner. Heated towel racks are no longer exclusive to fancy hotels. They can be used in the home to offer a luxurious drying experience.
Bathroom mirrors can also be appliances. Some mirrors will automatically free themselves of fog and some mirrors will connect with your MP3 player. That particular mirror is still in the prototype phase, but it includes a clock radio as well as MP3 player controls. The controls are part of a touch sensitive section of the mirror. Once this special mirror hits the market, it will bring in a whole new level of personalization to singing in the shower. Until that mirror connects someone with their favorite tunes, there are waterproof and water-resistant radios that can be placed inside or outside of the shower enclosure.
Heat lamps can be installed in the ceilings of bathrooms and heated floor tile can be used in the flooring. These items are deliciously luxurious in their own right, but can be a godsend for someone who suffers from arthritis or lives in a cold climate.
Jetted tubs can offer a delectable spa experience in the comfort of a private bathroom. A good long soak in a hot bath can relax away weeks of stress.
Bathroom appliances are not limited to basins and faucets. With a little checking, a homeowner can create a luxurious personal spa in their own home.
